i-lign Business Services

Business Services are more powerful than activities, less complex than projects and are designed specifically to support the large amount of organisation's work of an on-going nature.

The business services (on-going) work is reflected in staff availability, allowing a greater degree of accuracy when forecasting resource requirements for upcoming initiatives.

From this platform, performance measures (KPIs) can be identified and progress towards those targets can be tracked. Additionally, projects can be launched and linked to the business service they are improving.

Overhead tasks can be used to allocate a percentage of a Resource's time against company wide activities or leave for a specified time period.

How are Timesheets Pre-Populated?

When you access a Timesheet for the first time, it is populated with the Tasks, Projects and Activities to which you're assigned in that week. When you return to that Timesheet, it will display its original population. However, you can reset a Timesheet by clicking the Replace All button.

Task-Pools are designed for one specific function: to manage overheads (eg Project Management) during a Project. A Task does not manage overheads so well.
