In-house customers will need to upgrade the version of Java 6 they are running on their servers from version 4.5.2 onwardsSubmitted by Patrick from i-lign on Thu, 2009-12-10 13:11.
Notice for in-house customers only. From i-lign version 4.5.2 onwards, you will have to be running Java 6 update 16 on the server. You do not need to be running Java 6 on your desktops (although we recommend that you do). Do I need to do anything? If you are a hosted customer, you don't need to do anything. Why is this happening? The Java platform is improving all the time, with performance improvements and security fixes. We make sure that our hosting and test environments are running the latest versions. To keep our in-house customers up to date, and ensure that they do not find bugs that are caused by differences in Java versions, we periodically ask that you update your i-lign server. How do I upgrade?Go to the downloads page and get the 'JRE 6 update 16 for 32bit Windows servers' (at the bottom of the page). Follow these instructions. When do I need to do this? You will need to do it when you upgrade to i-lign 4.5.2 or a later release. We will be releasing 4.5.2 soon. Do I need to upgrade my desktops? We recommend that you keep up-to-date with the latest Java releases, however we do not require Java 6 on the desktop at the moment. » |
